Reeling with grief in the wake of a mission gone tragically wrong, legendary Rescue Swimmer Ben Randall (Kevin) is given a mission he doesn't want: training raw recruits. Once there, he knocks heads with cocky Jake Fischer, a swimming champ driven by a painful secret, who's more interested in breaking Ben's records than in saving lives . . . |

8/10. A very good movie, which took a lot of slack for being a remake of 'An Officer & a Gentleman', and while there are similarities, it is obviously its own movie. My biggest criticism would be that it's way too long. As a Kevin fan, I know he loves to tell a story well, but this definitely feels protracted. It could easily lose half an hour, which would have given it a lot more punch and would have made it far more enjoyable. Nonetheless, it is a good movie, well told, but it just should have been much shorter. |
